Badosa Withdraws from French Open, Sabalenka Battles to Victory

Former World No. 2 Withdraws Due to Mystery Illness

PARIS -- Former World No. 2 Paula Badosa has shocked the tennis world by withdrawing from the ongoing French Open. The Spaniard, who was seeded second, has been sidelined due to an undisclosed illness, leaving her fans and tournament organizers disappointed.

Sabalenka Triumphs Over Friend in Emotional Clash

In a heart-wrenching twist, Badosa's close friend and current second seed, Aryna Sabalenka, was forced to face her on court. The match proved to be an emotional rollercoaster, with both players fighting tears as they fought for every point.

Despite the emotional turmoil, Sabalenka ultimately emerged victorious, securing a hard-fought 7-5 6-2 win. The Belarusian star admitted to having mixed emotions after the match, but praised Badosa's fighting spirit.

"It's never easy to play against a friend, especially when they're not feeling well," Sabalenka said in a post-match interview. "But I'm proud of the way I handled the situation and came through for the win."

Sabalenka's victory sends her through to the fourth round of the French Open, where she will face a yet-to-be-determined opponent. The Belarusian star is now one of the favorites to lift the trophy and become the first woman since Justine Henin in 2007 to win back-to-back titles at Roland Garros.
